The Portage Economic Development Corporation was formed in 2001 as the primary economic development organization within the City of Portage. PEDCO serves as a marketer/promoter for Portage, Indiana to outside businesses and as a partner in strengthening existing businesses. Through investments from community businesses and the City of Portage, PEDCO's mission is to attract new businesses and enhance the quality of life.
PEDCO accomplishes these goals through its shared office with the Portage Downtown Development Corporation (DDC). Two staff members, an Executive Director and administrative assistant work to provide information and resources to interested site selectors/developers or existing businesses.
